Arrivederci Milan e ciao Firenze!

Heading to Florence today! More pizza and more gelato. Life is glorious.

Breakfast:
Yogurt w/strawberries
Snack:
Cantucci
(I learned that biscotti refers more to just regular cookies/biscuits and that cantucci actually refers to what Americans generally call biscotti. I still don't know how to say this, but I'm overjoyed at finding the correct name. Bought this package in a random grocery store and it's surprisingly delicious. The vanilla flavour does get overwhelming after a bit though.)
Snack:
Yogurt
Snack from Pasticceria Ragazzi, Milan, Italy:
Brioche con fragole
Brioche with strawberries
(This is a different brioche than I'm used to, with more resemblance to a croissant but it was still quite good. I thought the filling would be just strawberries in either a jam, cream or mousse format but it turned out to be a spiked strawberry cream. Don't know my alcohols well enough to figure out what it was, but the flavours blended nicely together.)
Snack from Grom, Milan, Italy:
Coffee and pistachio gelati (+sample of custard and caramelized sesame seeds)
(First tried Grom back in New York City last summer and I remember the coffee gelato being intense. The coffee at the Grom here is equally intense and delicious. It's like having a warm mug of joe on a cold day, except envision a scorching day and the best iced beverage.)
Late lunch (before catching our train to Florence!):
Shredded carrot, black olive & parmesan cheese salad
Bite of Kelly's pizza
Snack from Gelateria Perché no!..., Florence, Italy:
Pistachio and stracciatella gelato (+sample of lavender)
(The lavender was too strong. I didn't think I'd like the stracciatella, but it was quite good! Pistachio here is also less creamy and more nutty so plus one!)
Sample of Kelly's matcha green tea gelato
(Kind of disappointing. The matcha green tea flavour wasn't strong.)
Late dinner at Gusta Pizza, Florence, Italy:
Margherita: pomodoro, mozzarella, basilico, parmigiano, olio extra vergine
Margherita: tomato, mozzarella cheese, basil, Parmesan cheese, EVOO
(Freakishly amazing pizza. I was going to get the one with arugula, but decided to stick to the basics. Definitely a favourite. I could eat this all day long!)
Picture of some of the pizzas at our table.
Late night snack from Gelaterra della Passera, Florence, Italy:
Pistachio and Mona Lisa* gelati (+sample of liquorice)
(The Mona Lisa tasted just like apple sauce! It's a medley of ingredients but they surprisingly work well together. Reminds me of a naughty after-school childhood snack thanks to the cognac-soaked raisins and orange blossoms. I also quite liked the pistachio here since it was on the nutty side. This is my new favourite gelateria; its flavours are all potent and the scoops are only €1 each! It's a teensy tiny shop, but brimming with warmth and creamy goodness. Must visit if you're in Florence!)

*Monna Lisa: creme, compote de pommes, fleur d'oranger, raisins au cognac, noix
Mona Lisa: cream, apple sauce, orange blossom, cognac-soaked raisins, walnuts
Sample of Kelly's kiwi and mint mojito gelati
(Another two delicious flavours! Loved the kiwi, I'll have to get that next time. The mint mojito tasted exactly like a frozen mint mojito. Refreshing, but got a bit much after awhile.)
