In memory of A.

I haven't been the receiver of any good news lately, and today's news really just punched me in the gut. Found out that a friend, ex-mentor and inspirer of mine just passed away, so I'm just going to take some time to re-evaluate things in my life.

Taking pictures and/or writing down what I consume is now second-nature to me, but I might take awhile to actually publish the posts. Rest assured, I am still eating.

(Ended up vomiting this back up.)

(Was halfway done with the bag when I received the news. I basically went into mild shock, finished the bag without knowing it, proceeded to dry heave and well, wet heave. I feel like I should be reaching my mid-life crisis very soon.)

(Finally made that pot of soup! Smells heavenly too. Yum. Couldn't resist and ate three cups.)

Sour watermelon gummy
(One of my favourite Haribo mixes! I really only like two of the gummies in there, but I have yet to find bags of them separately. Perhaps I should go to Germany...)
Snack:
Kettle corn
(I don't like popcorn, but I have a weakness for kettle corn.)

(This soup masks the hemp taste well! Very enjoyable.)

(celery, spinach, banana, almond milk, pineapple, orange & mango juice, tumeric, cinnamon, hemp powder)
(Only drank a mug. Decided to save the other mug for later.)
Snack:
Green smoothie (from earlier) topped w/Greek yogurt
Snack:
Carrot batons
(I'm eating too many carrots. Maybe. I think I was a rabbit in my previous life.)

Greek yogurt w/hemp protein powder
(I felt okay after drinking my smoothie with yogurt in it so I thought it would be alright if I ate some. Not true. I guess I can't eat that much yogurt anymore... ended up regurgitating this all out.)

Just received an email bearing devastating news. Was going to make a pot of soup, but I don't feel like going out of my room right now or doing anything really.

Coffee
(Fridays require coffee. I love coffee, especially its aroma, but I have an intense addictive reaction if I drink too much. Decided that since I'm in class from 9AM - 6PM on Fridays, coffee would be a nice reward and great way to start the weekend.)
Snack:
Gingersnap biscuits
(So maybe I'm not intolerant to yogurt! I think I'm coming down with a cold or stomach flu.)
Snack:
Hob nob biscuit
(My version of a saltine cracker. Didn't work too well.)
Snack:
Banana, 1/2 cup of granola w/almond milk (2)
(My version of congee. My mother would be appalled.)

(I'm pretty sure I'm getting ill, but I don't know if my lactose intolerance is worsening because this yogurt parfait never made it through the digestive system. Retching yogurt is like smelling sour milk. Digusting.)
