13 November 2014

Breakfast:
Banana, pb, cantaloupe
Lunch:
Veggie hummus wrap, lemon tea
Snack:
Green smoothie: spinach, cantaloupe, mango, OJ, banana, ice & hemp seeds (drank half)
World Cuisine - Hungary Dinner:
Dobos torte: sponge cake layered w/chocolate cream & topped w/caramel
(This wasn't half bad! The cake was a bit dry though.)
Lángos: fried dough topped w/garlic, sour cream & cheese
(I ate the dough part and scraped off the toppings for one slice. Ended up giving the other slice to Caitlin because garlic, sour cream and cheese are three of my most disliked food items.)
Celery sticks, baby carrots, mixed greens, cucumber slices, körözött, beet & vinegar salad, káposztás tészta, töltött
mángold*

(I didn't try the weird cheese spread because I was traumatized by the fried dough of horror, but the other Hungarian-inspired dishes were alright. I would still rather eat unflavoured beets than halfway-to-pickled beets, and there were way too many onion chunks in the noodles. Neither dish impressed me much, but I did enjoy the Swiss chard stuffed with grains and vegetables.)

*Körözött: or "lipataur", a quark cheese spread of paprika, onion, mustard, caraway seed, spices
Káposztás tészta: cabbage and fresh egg noodles (although they forgot to list ONIONS!)
Töltött mángold: Swiss chard stuffed w/wild mushroom, barley, lentil & savoury vegetables
Sesame noodle salad (ate a forkful)
Vegan dobos torte (ate one bite, spit it out)
(Funky flavour and much too dry.)
