Breakfast at Sabrina's Cafe - Powelton, Philadelphia, PA:
Tofu scramble (w/tomatoes instead of mushrooms), whole wheat toast & home fries
(I've always had this fascination with omelettes, scrambles and egg-based breakfast foods, but could never eat them because plain eggs freak me out. That being said, I love tofu scrambles but few places offer them. This scramble wasn't as good as the one from Lone Wolf in Amherst, but it's still very filling and edible. The tofu could have used more spices or vegetables for flavour. I added quite a bit of hot sauce to liven up the dish, but the aftertaste would have been improved had there been cayenne pepper, chili or some real spices. I also think the oil they used to fry the home fries in is old because it didn't taste like fried potatoes nor did it have much flavour.)
Stuffed French toast (shared w/Kevin, Woojin & Gino)
(Sabrina's famed dish! This was massive and a good complement to my savoury breakfast. The banana-infused cream cheese and amount of cinnamon-sprinkled syrup were nicely balanced, giving the ultra fluffy slices a much more welcomed flavour than the usual vanilla-laden eggy one. Unless you're a big fan of French toast, I'd recommend sharing half of a half-order because it'll get overwhelming.)
Our breakfast table!
My tofu scramble, Kevin's barking chihuahua breakfast burrito, Woojin's steak and eggs, Gino's blue cheese and bacon fritatta with sausage and our shared stuffed French toast
Dinner:
Corn puffs w/apple chunks, almond butter, cinnamon, ground flaxseeds & flaxseed milk
 Snack:
Cranberry almond cookies (2)
