Brekkie:
Oats, macadamia & honey cluster cereal w/cinnamon, almond milk & spoonful of pb
Snack-on-the-go:
Malted choco2 chunk walnut cookie w/pb (2)
Lunch at Egg Sake Bistro, Union House (Underground) at Uni Melb, Parkville, Melbourne, Australia:
Chicken katsu curry over rice w/pickled, red-dyed daikon
(Decided I probably should start eating more substantial food for lunch. Apparently this is one of the hot spots on campus, so I decided to try their bento/donburi side. I'll try their sushi side tomorrow. Anyway, it was salty and quite oily. I literally downed an entire 16oz water bottle right after this. The rice wasn't the best quality, but it wasn't over or undercooked. While the chicken could have had better breading, it was freshly fried and still crisp after sitting under that heap of curry for the ten minutes it took me to pay, grab a seat, take pictures and stare at what I was about to consume. I wasn't a fan of the curry; for a Japanese curry, it was quite heavy and tasted more like a gravy. Perhaps I was just overwhelmed by how salty it was, but I think Japanese curries tend to be a bit milder and lighter. This was also kickin' it in the spicy department. For a split second, I wondered if I should add the extra sriracha sauce or random other hot sauces, but I didn't have to! It wasn't spicy, but it was definitely hot. The best part of this donburi was the red-dyed, pickled daikon. Added a great chewy and crunchy texture contrast to the crispy mush as well as a reprieve from the salt. Okay, maybe that was a bit harsh, but I'm not used to that much salt in one sitting. All in all, it was very fulfilling and definitely more substantial than what I've been eating for lunch. I just miss the hearty yet light Japanese curries from America.)
Snack:
Tangerine slice from Deanna
Free BBQ at the North Court of Union House at Uni Melb, Parkville, Melbourne, Australia:
Tiny sip of Deanna's apple cider beer
(I guess when the drinking age is 18, universities can give out free beer to students-provided they show their license of course. Tried it but ugh, it was disgusting. Tasted like stale apple cider.)
"Whole wheat" bread w/ketchup
(They ran out of veggie patties and I don't eat hot dogs/sausages/whatever else they call them. So I just had a slice of bread with some ketchup.)
Snack:
Green kiwifruit
Snack:
Carrot sticks & hummus w/cayenne pepper & black pepper
Snack:
Double coat Tim Tam slam w/cinnamon spice tea
 Snack:
Warm malted choco2 chunk walnut cookie
